Anche quest’anno l’ANMIL Lombardia è stata presente alle celebrazioni del 7 e 8 agosto per la strage di Marcinelle di cui ricorre il 63 anniversario. “Abbiamo preso un impegno chiaro fin dal 2007 – dichiara Luigi Feliciani, presidente ANMIL Bergamo – quando ricollocammo una targa-ricordo. E non abbiamo mai mancato un appuntamento. Intorno a quella triste vicenda è cresciuta negli anni un’attenzione straordinaria. Ed oggi Marcinelle è un appuntamento che riunisce i minatori di tutto il mondo”.
Marcinelle, 8 agosto 1956, la Catastròfa (nell’espressione metà dialetto metà francese) è l’incendio scoppiato a 975 metri sottoterra in una miniera del distretto carbonifero di Charleroi. Alla fine si contarono 262 morti, di cui 136 immigrati italiani. Tecnicamente, all’origine del disastro ci fu un banale accidente ma quei lavoratori furono uccisi soprattutto dall’imprevidenza premeditata, dalla mancanza di misure protettive e dalla disorganizzazione.
Quest’anno la delegazione ANMIL è stata formata da alcuni Consiglieri Regionali: Andrini Mario (Cremona), Giacomelli Emilio (Sondrio), Antonio Di Bella (Varese) e Luigi Feliciani (Bergamo), vicepresidente ANMIL Lombardia. Il programma 2019 ha previsto prima la partecipazione alla cerimonia presso la miniera con deposizione di una corona di fiori. Una seconda corona di fiori è stata deposta al monumento ai Caduti italiani che sorge al cimitero di Marcinelle. Lo scorso anno presero parte alle celebrazioni anche alcuni membri del Governo italiano come il ministro degli Esteri Moavero Milanesi e il sottosegretario Claudio Durigon.
