6 aprile 2021 – Ieri si è verificato un incendio, dopo una forte esplosione nell’acciaieria 2 dello stabilimento ex Ilva di Taranto, l’ultimo in ordine di tempo è stato fortunosamente senza feriti. Il presidente della Regione Puglia Michele Emiliano però testimonia “l’urgenza e la non più differibilità degli interventi di messa in sicurezza della fabbrica, per chi ci lavora e chi abita nelle immediate vicinanze”. “La Regione Puglia – aggiunge – manifesta vicinanza ai lavoratori ed alla comunità tarantina ed è pronta come sempre a svolgere il suo ruolo di tutore della salute, della sicurezza, dell’ambiente e del lavoro di Taranto a dispetto di ogni pretesa strabica strategicità. Il Governo del Paese deve tirarci fuori dal limbo giuridico e di fatto in cui siamo finiti da mesi, la posizione del territorio è chiara e compatta. ArcelorMittal dia risposte concrete sulla sicurezza degli impianti e la tutela dell’integrità di chi ci lavora e non perda tempo a osservare le bacheche dei social network per limitare e reprimere la libertà dei lavoratori che segnalano questa situazione”.
Il sindaco di Taranto Rinaldo Melucci si spinge fino a chiedere la sospensione cautelativa dell’impianto: “Non è banale, per la perdurante violenza verso la comunità e i suoi lavoratori. Qualcuno a questo giro di giostra si assume una grande responsabilità, sia davanti alla morale che alla legge. Lo Stato italiano – osserva ancora Melucci – riconosce e rispetta la rilevanza economica e sociale dell’industria dell’acciaio, così come di ogni altra forma di sviluppo economico”, ma questo “non equivale a consentire qualunque cosa. È ciò che ha ribadito anche il Tar Puglia Sezione Lecce di recente”. Il riferimento è alla pronuncia del giudice amministrativo, ora sospesa in attesa della decisione del Consiglio di Stato prevista per il 13 maggio, che ha ordinato ad ArcelorMittal e a Ilva in As di chiudere l’area a caldo in ottemperanza all’ordinanza sulle emissioni del primo cittadino. Melucci chiede “al presidente della Repubblica Mattarella, al presidente del Consiglio Draghi, al ministro della salute Speranza, al ministro della transizione ecologica Cingolani e al Ministro dello sviluppo economico Giorgetti” di mettere “presto fine a questo scempio, a questo continuo smacco all’Italia”.
“Su questa linea della colata continua ci sono sei operatori al lavoro, tutti all’interno dei ‘pulpiti’, che sono le postazioni di controllo. E per fortuna che erano nei ‘pulpiti’, perché caso mai si fosse trovato un lavoratore all’esterno, magari per il controllo della temperatura, a quest’ora non staremmo certo parlando di un incidente senza feriti ma di ben altro”, racconta Gennaro Oliva, coordinatore di fabbrica Uilm nello stabilimento siderurgico ArcelorMittal di Taranto. Il sindacalista parla di “incidente grave” e di “responsabilità da parte di chi in questo momento cerca di distrarre, con atteggiamenti repressivi nei confronti dei lavoratori a scapito di una gestione non adeguata”.
