4 maggio 2022 – Approvata dalla Commissione Affari Costituzionali del Senato una proposta di legge che intende istituire il 18 settembre come “Giornata nazionale in memoria delle vittime dell’odio razziale e dello sfruttamento sul lavoro”. Il provvedimento è stato trasmesso all’Aula che ne proseguirà l’esame. Primo firmatario il giornalista e Senatore del Gruppo Misto Sandro Ruotolo assieme, tra gli altri, anche a Tatjana Rojc, Emma Bonino e Liliana Segre. “Con questa nostra iniziativa – ha affermato ha Senatrice Rojc, che è stata relatrice della legge in commissione – vogliamo ricordare e commemorare le decine di ragazze e ragazzi vittime di odio razziale, come lo sono stati i sette giovani di Castel Volturno barbaramente ammazzati dalla camorra il 18 settembre 2008. E vogliamo onorare tutti quei giovani perseguitati solo per il colore della pelle e sfruttati terribilmente sul posto di lavoro nel nostro Paese. Saranno coinvolte particolarmente le scuole italiane che – ha concluso Rojc – promuoveranno le iniziative riguardanti la tutela dei diritti umani, la lotta all’odio razziale e allo sfruttamento del lavoro di questi giovani immigrati”.
