La sfida sarà indirizzare le risorse verso chi ha davvero bisogno, perché sulle aree del welfare riguardanti povertà, natalità e non autosufficienza si sconta un grave ritardo dello Stato”. E’ il parere di Cristiano Gori, docente di Politica sociale all’Università di Trento, espresso durante il forum su “Nuove povertà e nuove reti sociali” nell’ambito della 16/a edizione del Festival dell’economia di Trento, che si è svolta la scorsa settimana.
“La povertà in Italia è in costante crescita dal 2008, e vi è un fragilizzazione della società che è trasversale e riguarda anche le persone che lavorano. Durante il Covid valuto positivamente la quantità delle misure messe in campo, mentre sulla qualità ci sono molte ombre: la metà dei poveri non riceve il reddito di cittadinanza e, per come è disegnata la misura, almeno 1/3 degli utenti non sono poveri. Andiamo verso un’Italia che richiederà scelte complicatissime, perché stiamo facendo le cose giuste al momento sbagliato”. Secondo Franca Maino, docente di Scienza politica all’Università statale di Milano, il welfare giocherà un ruolo “determinante nel favorire la crescita economica” per “produzione di nuove risposte ai bisogni sociali a livello locale”.
