E’ quanto denunciato dagli esperti che hanno preso parte alla prima sessione, in digitale, dell’evento Cracking cancer forum 2020. “Con questi numeri – ha affermato Attilio Bianchi, direttore generale dell’Istituto Nazionale Tumori Irccs Fondazione G. Pascale di Napoli – la prossima pandemia sarà il cancro”.
“Non è vero che stiamo garantendo i percorsi oncologici”, ha dichiarato nel suo intervento Oscar Bertetto, direttore del Dipartimento rete oncologica Piemonte-Valle d’Aosta,. “C’è – ha aggiunto – una estrema carenza di servizi diagnostici, in molte strutture non possiamo inviare pazienti perché non sono state separate dalle aree Covid. Abbiamo bisogno di avere spazi Covid free al di fuori degli ospedali”. Sulla stessa linea l’intervento di Pierfranco Conte, ordinario di Oncologia medica dell’Università degli Studi di Padova e coordinatore della Rete oncologica del Veneto. “I tumori – ha sottolineato – purtroppo sopravviveranno al Covid e nonostante decreti e documenti non è vero che l’oncologia viene preservata perché si appoggia a radiologia, endoscopia e altri servizi che sono pesantemente influenzati”. Sempre nel suo intervento Conte ha allargato la sua denuncia a tutta l’organizzazione sanitaria: “Si parla di modello Italia per il Covid, ma il nostro Paese ha la stessa mortalità del Messico, quattro volte quella della Germania, il doppio di Francia e Inghilterra. Bisogna spiegare il perché. Io sono d’accordo sulla deospedalizzazione ma ora abbiamo un numero di posti letto per abitante inferiore del 60% rispetto a quello della Germania e la metà di quello della Francia. Per anni il sistema sanitario è stato scheletrizzato, al di là dei colori politici dei governi”.
