Roma, 27 agosto 2021 – 4 ori, 4 argenti e 3 bronzi sono il bottino in appena due giorni effettivi di gare della nazionale italiana a Tokyo nei giochi paralimpici. Il bottino di ieri si è concretizzato in 2 ori, 3 argenti e 1 bronzo. Un riscontro che ha proiettato la selezione del Bel Paese in sesta posizione nel medagliere complessivo e in vetta in quello specifico del nuoto. Non c’è male per una competizione giunta appena al terzo giorno di gare.
Oggi, però, c’è stato il grande risultato della nazionale femminile di sitting volley che al suo esordio assoluto è riuscita a battere addirittura i padroni di casa con un perentorio 3-0 (25-23, 25-11, 25-10). Le ragazze di Amauri Ribeiro hanno iniziato nel migliore dei modi la loro avventura a Tokyo 2020 ottenendo una vittoria e tre punti molto preziosi per superare la fase a gironi. Sugli spalti ad assistere all’incontro il sottosegretario allo Sport, Valentina Vezzali, il presidente del Comitato Italiano Paralimpico, Luca Pancalli e il capo missione del Cip, Juri Stara.
La nazionale italiana di sitting tornerà in campo domenica 29 agosto per affrontare il Canada (alle 7 italiane), una squadra capace di giocare bene, già affrontata nel 2019. Rispetto al Giappone sono di un livello superiore.
A dare il via al medagliere azzurro è stato Francesco Bocciardo. Il ragazzo d’oro di queste Paralimpiadi, dopo aver dominato la scena nei 200 stile libero S5, ha replicato nelle due vasche (100 sl S5) e l’ha fatto attuando una rimonta notevolissima che gli ha permesso di precedere il cinese Wang e il brasiliano De Farias Dias: «Non svegliatemi da questo sogno», le sue parole. Il bis dorato è stato quello di Stefano Raimondi: l’atleta veneto aveva voglia di riscattarsi dopo il quarto posto nei 50 sl S10. L’oro nei 100 rana SB9 è stata un assolo in cui la rabbia di 24 ore prima si è tramutata in benzina per la vittoria assoluta: «Dietro questa medaglia c’è tanto. Anni di sacrifici da parte mia, della mia famiglia, il mio ex allenatore Giancarlo, di tutti coloro che mi hanno aiutato e della mia fidanzata Giulia Terzi». Quella Giulia Terzi che, nella staffetta 4×50 stile libero mista, si è tinta d’argento come Carlotta Gilli nei 100 dorso S13 e Luigi Beggiato nei 100 stile libero S4. Il tutto completato dal bronzo della riconferma di Monica Boggioni nei 100 sl S5 dopo quello dei 200 sl. Un’Italia che ha le ali quindi e vuol dare l’esempio.
