Roma, 17 marzo 2021 – “I linguaggi d’odio non appartengono alla pratica sportiva”. Il 19 marzo 2021 alle ore 15 sono organizzati in contemporanea in 10 città italiane altrettanti presidi – momenti di mobilitazione giovanile creativa – nel rispetto delle norme e del distanziamento fisico, per attirare l’attenzione dell’opinione pubblica sulla necessità di reagire al dilagare della violenza verbale on line in alcuni settori dello sport. Secondo il Barometro dell’Odio nello Sport, ricerca realizzata dal Centro Coder dell’Università di Torino, che ha monitorato per 3 mesi i social network delle principali testate sportive italiane, l’hate speech è ormai una componente strutturale delle conversazioni sportive, potenziata dai meccanismi virali della comunicazione digitale. Su 4.857 post analizzati, per un totale di oltre 443mila commenti alle pagine Facebook delle cinque principali testate giornalistiche sportive nazionali (Gazzetta dello Sport, TuttoSport, Corriere dello Sport, SkySport, Sport Mediaset), emerge che tre post su quattro ricevono commenti che contengono una qualche forma di hate speech. Lo sport, tradizionalmente terreno di inclusione e aggregazione sociale, che nel nostro paese coinvolge milioni di ragazzi acquista, purtroppo, anche un’altra faccia e può trasformarsi in fornace di discorsi e gesti d’odio, che nella dimensione digitale si potenziano e diffondono in maniera esponenziale.
Per questo è nato “Odiare non è uno Sport”, progetto educativo di prevenzione e contrasto all’hate speech nello sport sostenuto dall’Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo e promossa dal Centro Volontariato Cooperazione allo Sviluppo, con un fitta rete di partners su tutto il territorio nazionale. In un anno di progetto e nonostante la pandemia sono stati coinvolti oltre 3400 giovani, 200 insegnanti, 150 allenatori di società sportive e 12 campioni olimpici che hanno realizzato percorsi educativi, mobilitato l’opinione pubblica e fatto nascere delle “antenne anti-odio” in sei regioni italiane, gruppi di giovani opportunamente formati per intervenire nei discorsi di odio online smorzando i toni. Si sono mobilitati anche personaggi dello spettacolo, che hanno dato il loro supporto alla campagna, come Giovanni Storti, del famoso trio Aldo, Giovanni e Giacomo.
Il progetto culmina proprio con i presidi del 19 marzo a Torino, Cuneo, Milano, Padova, Rovigo, Gorizia, Verona, Roma, Catania. Attraverso brevi performances sportive nel rispetto del distanziamento fisico, e la presentazione di materiali informativi nelle diverse città italiane rilancerà la scritta Odiare non è uno sport ripresa e fotografata dagli uffici comunicazione dei diversi enti partners per realizzare in contemporanea un “Flash Mob online” coinvolgendo le scuole e associazioni sportive già precedentemente contattate dalle attività del progetto.
In vista del 21 marzo, Giornata internazionale contro il razzismo, l’obiettivo dell’azione è tutelare il diritto ad una comunicazione pacifica e inclusiva e stimolare una riflessione sul tema aumentando la consapevolezza dei giovani sugli impatti devastanti dell’hate speech tanto online che offline, nonché ribadire il valore aggregativo e socializzante di una pratica sportiva rispettosa delle regole.
