4 gennaio 2022 – Tra Natale e Capodanno passati la vergognosa escalation di violenza contro i nostri sanitari, in prima linea nel contrastare l’emergenza pandemica che stiamo vivendo con numeri sempre più importanti, ha raggiunto un nuovo picco.
Antonio De Palma, Presidente Nazionale del sindacato degli infermieri Nursing Up dichiara la disponibilità dell’associazione a costituirsi parte civile a difesa dei colleghi “impegnati da alcune settimane in una nuova delicata battaglia per fronteggiare una variante del Covid, Omicron, che corre veloce come non mai e che sta nuovamente cambiando radicalmente le nostre esistenze, la nostra quotidianità”.
A Roma sono stati registrati episodi inaccettabili, sottolinea De Palma, come quello dell'”infermiera del San Giovanni, a cui un paziente ha addirittura strappato una falange a morsi, e poi un operatore sanitario che a Tor Vergata è stato ripetutamente colpito con pugni al torace fino a cadere a terra e fratturarsi un arto, riportando due settimane di prognosi: questi sono i fatti che ci riferiscono i nostri referenti locali”.
Una delle cause, secondo il sindacato, è certamente dovuta al “vertiginoso aumento dei ricoveri, nel pieno della quarta ondata di Covid, che rischia concretamente di generare una nuova paralisi in un sistema sanitario già barcollante. Ed è palese che, a fronte della cronica carenza di personale che può arrivare a toccare in piena emergenza anche le 110mila unità, con i nosocomi alle prese con l’inarrestabile crescita delle infezioni degli operatori sanitari (se ne contano ben 2490 in più nelle ultime 48 ore, questo equivale a ben 2041 infermieri contagiati nei primi due giorni del nuovo anno!), si verificano situazioni di vero e proprio caos, in particolare nei pronto soccorsi, generate da stress, paura e il più delle volte dalla totale inadeguatezza delle strutture ospedaliere”.
Continua De Palma: “Si parte dalle minacce, come quelle avvenute al Policlinico Umberto I, dove nel giorno di Santo Stefano, un 71enne brandisce un cacciavite contro gli infermieri, e si arriva alle aggressioni fisiche vere e proprie”. E conclude: “Decine di pazienti in coda in un pronto soccorso del San Camillo ormai saturo dove non c’è nemmeno posto per accogliere i malati in attesa, costretti a rimanere all’esterno, oppure due soli infermieri a gestire al Policlinico di Tor Vergata circa cinquanta pazienti in attesa di un posto letto, o ancora al Sant’Andrea, sempre area pronto soccorso, oltre 80 persone in attesa di cure di cui oltre la metà bisognosi di un ricovero che non si ha la certezza di poter ottenere”.
