Roma, 28 maggio 2021 – Investiti da vapori contenenti ammoniaca, sono morti così due operai rispettivamente di 50 e 51 anni mentre stavano lavorando presso la ditta Di.Gi.Ma S.r.L di Villanterio (PV) specializzata nella lavorazione di grassi e farine proteiche di origine animale. L’incidente sarebbe stato probabilmente causato dalla rottura di una tubatura. Sul posto sono intervenuti oltre ai i Carabinieri, anche il nucleo NBCR, diverse squadre dei vigili del fuoco e i tecnici di ATS Pavia. La più giovane delle due vittime era di Copiano mentre l’altro viveva a Villanterio ma era originario di Siena ed era stato assunto tramite un’agenzia interinale. Il presidente Attilio Fontana, a nome dell’intera Giunta, esprime il cordoglio della Regione Lombardia per l’incidente. “Siamo vicini alle loro famiglie in questo momento di dolore” dice il governatore. “Sono fatti inaccettabili. Anche nei giorni scorsi, ci siamo riuniti con tutti i Prefetti della Lombardia e i soggetti istituzionali coinvolti, a vario titolo, sul tema della sicurezza sul lavoro – conclude Fontana – per individuare ulteriori strumenti utili a contrastare questi gravissimi episodi”.
“Non si ferma mai la conta dei morti sul lavoro, mai – commenta il deputato del PD Emanuele Fiano – Oggi due operai morti in provincia di Pavia. Servono più controlli. Forse ancora di più oggi che l’etica sul lavoro ci appare in giorni drammatici come quelli di Mottarone, completamente svanita”. Nella giornata in cui Cgil, Cisl e Uil chiedono a gran voce dei provvedimenti urgenti e incisivi per la salute e la sicurezza nei luoghi di lavoro, registriamo un gravissimo incidente mortale –affermano Tina Balì e Andrea Gambillara della segreteria nazionale Flai Cgil – Anche oggi registriamo una tragedia enorme, che allunga l’elenco di una strage quotidiana che non si riesce a fermare. Li seguitiamo a chiamare incidenti, ma non hanno nulla di accidentale o casuale, si tratta di morti annunciate all’interno di un sistema che vede troppi buchi neri su controlli, prevenzione, formazione e rispetto delle leggi e delle norme esistenti. Tutte le istituzioni preposte devono intervenire, anche il tempo del cordoglio è finito, bisogna agire e in fretta perché nel 2021 non si può morire sul lavoro. Fermiamo le stragi sul lavoro, dicendo basta a un sistema che mette il profitto prima della salute”.
