Roma, 26 luglio 2021 – Secondo l’Organizzazione Internazionale del Lavoro (OIL), le disuguaglianze tra uomini e donne esacerbate durante la pandemia persisteranno nel prossimo futuro.
In particolare, il nuovo policy brief ‘Building Forward Fairer: Women’s rights to work and at work at the core of the COVID-19 recovery’ indica che, rispetto al 2019, ci saranno 13 milioni di donne in meno occupate nel 2021, mentre nello stesso anno l’occupazione maschile sarà tornata ai livelli del 2019. In linea più generale, a livello globale, solo il 43,2% delle donne in età lavorativa sarà impiegato nel 2021, rispetto al 68,6% degli uomini.
In effetti, la pandemia ha ampliato le disuguaglianze di genere tanto sul piano occupazionale e reddituale quanto su quello delle condizioni di lavoro, a causa della loro eccessiva rappresentanza nei settori più colpiti, come i servizi di ristorazione e il settore manifatturiero. Infatti, a livello globale, tra il 2019 e il 2020 l’occupazione femminile è diminuita del 4,2%, con un calo di 54 milioni di posti di lavoro, mentre l’occupazione maschile è diminuita del 3%, corrispondenti a 60 milioni di posti di lavoro. Anche l’Europa ha seguito questo trend negativo, con un calo dell’occupazione femminile del 2,5%.
