Nei 50 stile libero di classe S9, Simone Barlaam ha fatto registrare la miglior prestazione, fermando il tempo sul 24.71, nuovo record paralimpico. Il milanese ha preceduto, al traguardo, Denis Tarasov, della RPC (24.99) e lo statunitense Jamal Hill (25.19).
Oro anche per Arjola Trimi nei 50 rana S3. La lombarda ha nuotato in 51.34, 3.77 più veloce della britannica Ellie Challis (55.11) e 5.69 della atleta della RPC Iulia Shishova (57.03).
Oro al termine di una gara da brividi anche per la staffetta 4×100 donne composta da Alessia Scortechini, Giulia Terzi, Vittoria Bianco e Xenia Palazzo. Le ragazze vincono con il tempo di 4:24.85, davanti all’Australia (4:26.82) e al Canada (4:30.40).
Nei 400 stile libero S7, Giulia Terzi ha ottenuto la medaglia d’argento con il tempo di 5:06.32. Davanti a lei solo la statunitense McKenzie Coan (5:05.84). Terzo posto per un’altra americana, Julia Gaffney (5:11.89).
Il secondo argento, per il nuoto azzurro, arriva grazie alla prova di Giulia Ghiretti nei 100 rana SB4 (1:50.36). Meglio di lei l’ungherese Fanni Illes (1:44.41). Terzo posto per la cinese Cuan Yao (1:50.77).
Nei 50 stile libero S13 Carlotta Gilli vince la sua quarta medaglia a questi Giochi. 27.07 il tempo della torinese. L’oro è andato alla brasiliana Maria Carolina Gomes Santiago (26.82), l’argento alla nuotatrice della RPC Anna Krivshina (27.06). Nei 400 stile libero S7, quinto tempo per Simone Bicelli (4:43.67). Oro e record del mondo per l’israeliano Malyar (4:31.06), argento per l’ucraino Trusov (4:35.56), bronzo per lo statunitense Austin (4:38.95).
Nei 50 dorso S3, quinto posto per Vincenzo Boni (47.88). Successo per il cinese Zou (45.25). Secondo e terzo posto, rispettivamente, per l’ucraino Ostapchenko (45.57) e il messicano Lopez Diaz (45.66).
Nei 100 rana SB4, la stessa gara che ha regalato l’argento alla Ghiretti, sesto posto per Monica Boggioni con 1:58.28. A livello maschile, ottavo piazzamento per Francesco Bocciardo (1:51.06). Primo gradino del podio per Cherniaev, della RPC (1:31.96), secondo per il colombiano Fuentes Garcia (1:35.86), terzo per il greco Tsapatakis (1:40.20).
Oggi Barlaam e Boggionato ancora in gara mentre comincia l’avvio delle competizioni di atletica.
