Roma, 19 gennaio 2021 – Lunedì 1° febbraio scade il termine per sottoscrivere la polizza obbligatoria per chi, tra i 18 e i 67 anni, si occupa a tempo pieno dei lavori familiari. Da più di 20 anni l’ordinamento italiano riconosce con legge, la n. 493 del 1999, sotto il profilo professionale, l’impegno di quanti svolgono attività per la cura della casa e del nucleo familiare, purché in modo abituale, esclusivo e gratuito.
Il lavoro tra le mura domestiche viene equiparato, dal punto di vista della tutela dei rischi da infortunio, a quello svolto fuori casa. Un obbligo e allo stesso tempo un’opportunità. La legge 493, che tra l’altro per prima ha introdotto in Europa il tema della tutela contro i rischi da infortuni derivanti dal lavoro domestico, impone un obbligo assicurativo che porta con sé un’importante opportunità di salvaguardia della propria salute. Le persone che svolgono attività di lavoro domestico rappresentano una categoria di lavoratori particolarmente esposti a molteplici condizioni di rischio, tipiche dell’ambiente in cui operano, come conferma il numero di infortuni registrati in ambito domestico dall’Istat: 943.000 nel 2018 in Italia. Nonostante si verifichino migliaia di infortuni domestici ogni anno, non sono altresì rilevanti le denunce che pervengono all’Istituto da parte dei soggetti assicurati con l’Inail: 471 – dato nazionale – nel 2018; 652 nel 2019, segno evidente che si deve ancora fare molta strada per ampliare la platea dei soggetti che si assicurano, anche attraverso una costante sensibilizzazione dei cittadini aventi titolo alla copertura assicurativa e, in genere, attraverso la promozione della prevenzione e della responsabilità personale nei confronti della propria salute.
