Roma, 27 luglio 2021 – Una Commissione di alto profilo tecnico che dovrà definire i criteri per le verifiche e gli interventi di manutenzione da effettuare sulle strutture dei ponti in calcestruzzo armato precompresso e ordinario. È l’iniziativa del Ministro delle Infrastrutture e della Mobilità Sostenibili, Enrico Giovannini che intende migliorare la sicurezza di strade e autostrade attraverso un attento monitoraggio su ponti e viadotti, che in molti casi hanno più di cinquanta anni. La Commissione è presieduta dall’ingegner Massimo Sessa, presidente del Consiglio Superiore dei lavori pubblici e composta da professionalità tecniche di comprovata esperienza del settore delle costruzioni.
L’istituzione della commissione, con un decreto firmato dal Ministro Giovannini, nasce dalla considerazione che molte opere strutturali sul territorio italiano sono state realizzate parecchi anni fa, prima della normativa attualmente in vigore in materia di progettazione e esecuzione di opere, e che quindi è opportuno procedere ad un attento esame del loro stato di conservazione e dei possibili interventi di manutenzione.
“In Italia un numero significativo di ponti, viadotti e altre opere stradali è datato indietro nel tempo, è stato realizzato oltre 50 anni fa”, ha spiegato il Ministro Giovannini illustrando gli obiettivi della Commissione. “Oggi è necessario procedere ad un aggiornamento dei criteri e delle modalità per eseguire i controlli e la manutenzione. Migliorare la sicurezza delle opere stradali anche in considerazione delle nuove tecniche di costruzione e di monitoraggio – ha aggiunto il Ministro – è una priorità del Mims, anche a fronte degli eventi atmosferici di grande portata che si stanno verificando sul pianeta e che sono il chiaro segnale di cambiamenti climatici in atto”.
