Roma, 12 maggio – L’Estate 2021 sarà, a causa delle misure anti-Covid, la seconda con l’uso delle mascherine che, con l’aumento delle temperature, diventa ancora più fastidioso.
I dermatologi suggeriscono di usare le mascherine certificate Ce bianche, in tessuti naturali o anallergici, evitare i trucchi se si sa di doverle indossare a lungo e prendersi cura della propria pelle con i filtri solari.
I consigli vengono dai dermatologi della Sidemast, la Società italiana di dermatologia e malattie sessualmente trasmissibili, che hanno realizzato un vademecum per favorire l’uso delle mascherine anche con l’aumento delle temperature.
Il caldo, infatti, peggiora i fastidi che i pazienti lamentano a livello cutaneo: prurito, bruciori, eritemi, desquamazione della cute e irritazioni. E la situazione peggiora se si soffre di malattie come l’acne, che pur essendo un disturbo tipicamente adolescenziale interessa il 15% degli adulti, o la rosacea che colpisce più di 3 milioni di italiani. Non a caso si parla di “maskne”, termine che deriva dalla fusione di “mask” e “acne”. E c’è chi definisce “Covid face” un viso che può invecchiare anche di 5 anni in soli 6 mesi di pandemia con l’accentuazione di borse, occhiaie, rughe, pelle avvizzita, sguardo spento.
I dermatologi suggeriscono il cambio o il lavaggio regolare della mascherina (con detergenti neutri o biologici), e di eseguire una detersione quotidiana con detergenti sempre delicati. L’idratazione della pelle è fondamentale: ecco perché i medici suggeriscono di applicare la crema almeno una trentina di minuti prima di indossare la mascherina.
Per prevenire danni come le abrasioni o l’irritazione, inoltre, si può usare una medicazione idrocolloide da posizionare sotto le palpebre o sul dorso del naso. Ma se un’infiammazione dovesse comunque presentarsi, rivolgersi subito al dermatologo.
Importante è anche seguire una corretta alimentazione, evitando troppi zuccheri e alcolici e optando per una dieta mediterranea.
Gabriella Fabbrocini, consigliere di Sidemast, sottolinea che “il 90% dei pazienti infatti attribuisce il peggioramento di acne e rosacea all’uso della mascherina e un 30% dichiara che la patologia si è slatentizzata o riacutizzata a causa della stessa”. “Le dermatiti – afferma Pasquale Frascione, vicepresidente Sidemast – possono essere causate per esempio dalla composizione dell’elastico o dalla sensibilità al metallo utilizzato per modellare la mascherina sul naso”. Per Ketty Peris, presidente Sidemast, “il peggioramento” della rosacea “è dovuto a quello che potremmo definire un effetto ‘occlusivo o di condensa’, destinato purtroppo ad aumentare a causa del caldo, che è il primo nemico della rosacea”.
