Roma, 15 marzo 2021 – La ministra per le Pari Opportunità Elena Bonetti guida la delegazione italiana che partecipa da oggi al 26 marzo alla 65ͣ edizione della Commissione delle Nazioni Unite sullo Status delle donne (Commission on the Status of Women – CSW65). Bonetti interverrà alla prima tavola rotonda ministeriale in programma oggi, dalle 21:00 alle 22:00 (ora italiana) dal titolo “Arrivare alla parità: buone pratiche verso il raggiungimento della piena ed effettiva partecipazione al processo decisionale delle donne nella vita pubblica”. Il Dipartimento per le Pari Opportunità organizza inoltre uno dei due eventi collaterali italiani, dal titolo “Empowerment femminile nell’agenda dell’ONU e del G20: politiche per sostenere i talenti e la leadership femminili e per il contrasto alla violenza di genere” che si terrà domani 16 marzo dalle ore 18:00 alle ore 19:30. La convention si svolgerà in un formato ibrido con riunioni per lo più in videoconferenza. Molte iniziative saranno visibili in diretta streaming sulla webtv delle Nazioni Unite. La convention sarà inoltre trasmessa integralmente in diretta streaming sul sito e sui canali social del Dipartimento per le Pari Opportunità, con hashtag #CSW65.
Spiega la ministra Bonetti: “Mentre affrontiamo la crisi pandemica, siamo chiamati ad un nuovo impegno per una effettiva partecipazione delle donne ai processi decisionali. Sulla strada della ripartenza, che vogliamo percorrere, abbiamo bisogno di seguire due orientamenti fondamentali: il primo, preliminare, per debellare la diffusione del virus. Il secondo, altrettanto necessario, per consentire alle donne di mettere in campo tutto il loro potenziale e contribuire alla pari con gli uomini nel costruire il futuro che vogliamo. L’Italia è attualmente impegnata su entrambi questi fronti, a livello interno e internazionale. L’indirizzo dato dal presidente Draghi è chiaro: l’empowerment delle donne è la chiave per ottenere un vera parità di genere e una piena partecipazione delle donne alla vita pubblica. Ora è il tempo di percorrere questa strada con impegno e visione”.
