Roma, 25 febbraio 2022 – Il Consiglio dei Ministri ha dato il via libera all’attuazione della direttiva UE 2019/882, che mira a migliorare l’accessibilità a determinati prodotti o servizi da parte delle persone con disabilità. I prodotti a cui si applica la direttiva sono: sistemi hardware e sistemi operativi informatici generici; determinati terminali self-service; apparecchiature terminali con capacità informatiche interattive per consumatori, utilizzate per servizi di comunicazione elettronica o per accedere a servizi di media audiovisivi; lettori di libri elettronici (e-reader). In termini di servizi, invece, la direttiva si applica a: servizi di comunicazione elettronica; servizi di accesso a media audiovisivi; alcuni elementi relativi ai servizi di trasporto passeggeri aerei, con autobus, ferroviari e per vie navigabili; terminali self-service interattivi dei servizi di trasporti urbani, extraurbani e regionali; servizi bancari per consumatori; libri elettronici (e-book) e software dedicati; servizi di commercio elettronico. Vengono individuati requisiti di accessibilità armonizzati e gli Stati membri vengono incaricati di provvedere affinché siano immessi sul mercato solo i prodotti e vengano forniti solo i servizi conformi a tali requisiti.
“Oggi si fa un altro passo avanti importante per garantire un accesso facilitato alle persone con disabilità verso quei prodotti e servizi che agevolano la vita dei cittadini, guardando ad una piena inclusione” ha affermato il Ministro per le Disabilità Erika Stefani. “Assicurare a tutti i cittadini la stessa fruibilità di strumenti che agevolano la vita quotidiana – aggiunge – è un obiettivo fondamentale da raggiungere per includere realmente e concretamente le persone con disabilità nella società, in linea con i principi della progettazione universale e della Convenzione Onu sui diritti delle persone con disabilità”.
