11 settembre 2020 – Le senatrici del PD Valeria Fedeli, Monica Cirinnà, Vanna Iori, e Assuntela Messina, membri della commissione Diritti umani a Palazzo Madama, esprimono in una nota la loro soddisfazione per il lavoro che la commissione e il senato stanno svolgendo in questi giorni in merito al disegno di legge n. 1461 per il riconoscimento e il sostegno dei caregiver familiari: “Siamo molto soddisfatte del lavoro che la commissione Diritti umani del Senato sta svolgendo, con il contributo di tutti gruppi, in questi giorni. È molto importante infatti che la commissione abbia dato, all’unanimità, parere positivo al disegno di legge n.1461 che riguarda il riconoscimento e il sostegno alla figura del caregiver. Si tratta di norme che rispondono concretamente a un bisogno reale soprattutto perché finalmente, oltre al doveroso riconoscimento economico, si professionalizza la figura di questi lavoratori. È il riconoscimento del diritto, per molti cittadini, ad avere un caregiver ma è al tempo stesso il riconoscimento per questi lavoratori a vedersi riconosciuta una giusta professionalità.
Altrettanto importante è, in termini di diritti, l’approvazione, sempre all’unanimità, della risoluzione riguardante le politiche sulla disabilità, che impegna il governo ad adottare e attuare misure importanti a tutela delle persone disabili”.
