Roma, 9 febbraio 2021 – Sorgerà a Bergamo al Parco della Trucca un bosco della memoria delle vittime del COVID, in una delle città più duramente colpite nella prima fase della pandemia per non dimenticare tutti coloro che si sono ammalati e hanno perso la vita a causa del virus. Verranno piantati circa 750 tra alberi e arbusti, 130 alberi da frutta, 70 da bosco, 90 piccoli alberi. Il progetto prevede inoltre la realizzazione di camminamenti interni e alcune sedute per permettere il riposo delle persone che vorranno godere dell’area verde. Quegli stessi spazi saranno anche i naturali punti di riferimenti di eventi e iniziative culturali, didattiche e ricreative organizzate allo scopo di valorizzare il bosco. Tutte le iniziative saranno pensate per coinvolgere in primo luogo bambini e famiglie. “Bergamo è stata la città più colpita dalla prima ondata di epidemia coronavirus” ricorda il sindaco della città lombarda Giorgio Gori. È successo all’improvviso, quando nessuno di noi immaginava una cosa simile. Abbiamo contato quasi seicento vittime solo in città, seimila in provincia. All’immenso dolore che si è associato alla deflagrazione dell’epidemia, si sono però affiancate anche delle manifestazioni positive di solidarietà e coesione di questa comunità. Questo bosco ci aiuterà a ricordare continuando a crescere insieme”. Il progetto è stato realizzato dall’architetto Paola Cavallini e dall’agronomo Roberto Reggiani. La cerimonia di posa del primo albero è prevista per giovedì 18 marzo, in concomitanza della Giornata Nazionale in Memoria delle Vittime del COVID-19.
