Roma, 12 febbraio 2020. “L’emergenza del Coronavirus e la corsa alle mascherine filtranti di questi giorni ci impone di fornire, come Associazione di categoria che in Confindustria rappresenta i maggiori produttori e distributori di DPI, Dispositivi di Protezione Individuale, alcuni importanti chiarimenti sul loro utilizzo e sulla loro efficacia di protezione –dichiara Claudio Galbiati, Presidente di ASSOSISTEMA SAFETY – Il DPI, per essere considerato tale, deve rispettare “i requisiti essenziali di salute e di sicurezza e delle procedure di valutazione della conformità”, così come richiede il Regolamento UE 2016/425. Per essere efficace e sicuro, nei confronti di questa emergenza, l’OMS (Organizzazione Mondiale della sanità) prescrive un dispositivo conforme alla norma EN 149 con valida marcatura CE seguita dal numero dell’Organismo di Controllo che ne autorizza la commercializzazione”.
“Spesso, specialmente nei grandi centri commerciali, si trovano mascherine non classificabili come DPI e perciò non efficaci contro il Coronavirus – continua Alberto Spasciani, Vice Presidente di ASSOSISTEMA SAFETY – Attenzione, quindi, a scegliere prodotti conformi ed efficaci con informazioni verificate e coerenti. Occorre concentrarsi sul tipo di mascherine filtranti che possono essere utilizzate – prosegue Spasciani – abbiamo, infatti, diverse tipologie di prodotto, quelle consigliate sono FFP2 e FFP3 che hanno un’efficacia filtrante del 92% e del 98%”.
“Come DPI, ricordiamo che anche occhiali, guanti e tute – continua Galbiati – sono propedeutici per il personale sanitario che deve avvicinarsi a persone infette o malate”.
“Assosistema Safety ha predisposto un position paper sulle mascherine filtranti che può fornire indicazioni utili per i Ministeri, i lavoratori ma anche per i singoli cittadini”, conclude Galbiati.
