I diretti interessati, medici e infermieri, però, sono già in moto nel tentativo di costruire un argine all’emergenza. Gli operatori sanitari che nel 2018 hanno subito aggressioni di vario grado in Italia sono stati 1.200.
A Bari, per esempio, hanno deciso di diffondere una campagna pubblicitaria con un claim inequivocabile: “E poi, la vita chi te la salva?”. L’iniziativa è firmata dall’Ordine dei medici e patrocinata da una delle sigle sindacali della categoria, Fnomceo.
“Chi aggredisce un medico ferisce tutti noi. Chiudiamo questa ferita per sempre”, si legge ancora nei manifesti 6×3 affissi nelle strade di Bari. Del resto la Puglia ha il poco invidiabile primato in Italia per aggressioni contro i camici bianchi: dal 1984 al 2016 il 26 per cento del totale delle violenze contro medici si è verificato in questa regione. Seguono a grande distanza la Sicilia (16 per cento) e la Lombardia (13 per cento).
La dottoressa Maria Monteduro fu assassinata nelle campagne di Castrignano del Capo nel 1999. Stessa sorte per psichiatra barese Paola Labriola nel 2013. E i casi si ripetono: le ultime aggressioni ai danni di medici sono avvenute ad Ascoli Satriano il 30 gennaio scorso e a Statte appena qualche settimana fa: in entrambi i casi si tratta di medici in servizio nei locali della guardia medica.
Due le immagini, sui manifesti, dei camici bianchi vittime di violenza: una dottoressa con un evidente ematoma al viso e un paziente che si colpisce da solo con un pugno. “La campagna vuole sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica su una situazione drammatica – dice Filippo Anelli, presidente dell’Omceo Bari – non possiamo permetterci che l’attenzione cali quando si spengono i riflettori dei media, il giorno dopo ogni evento di violenza. E’ ora di prendere provvedimenti che garantiscano la sicurezza di operatori e cittadini”.
La campagna – spiega l’Ordine barese – nasce infatti come risposta al clima di insicurezza e di episodi di violenza che hanno portato la Puglia in cima alla lista per aggressioni ai danni dei medici: prendendo in considerazione il periodo 1984-2016 la nostra regione è quella con il maggior numero di episodi di violenza ai danni dei medici e presenta un netto divario rispetto alle altre, pesando per il 26% sul totale, contro il 16% della Sicilia e il 13% della Lombardia e di Sardegna, le regioni che seguono per ‘pericolosità'”.
