Roma, 23 ottobre 2020 – Il documento, realizzato da Ministero della Salute, Iss, Inail, Cts, Consiglio superiore di sanità, Conferenza delle Regioni, Fnomceo, Inmi Lazzaro Spallanzani e Organizzazione mondiale della sanità, rappresenta uno degli strumenti per l’implementazione e l’organizzazione della strategia di testing in modo omogeneo sul territorio nazionale e nasce dalla necessità di chiarire le indicazioni per la diagnostica di SARS-CoV-2 e i criteri di scelta dei test a disposizione nei diversi contesti, per un uso razionale e sostenibile delle risorse.
Le indicazioni contenute nell’elaborato sono in linea con quelle fornite dall’Oms per i profili dei prodotti per diagnostica dedicati a Covid-19, sottolineando anche la necessità che soddisfino non solo i criteri di specificità e sensibilità ma anche caratteristiche di test rapido.
Sono cinque gli obiettivi per il testing riconosciuti dallo European Centre for Disease prevention and Control (ECDC): controllare la trasmissione; monitorare l’incidenza, l’andamento e valutare la gravità nel tempo; mitigare l’impatto del Covid-19 nelle strutture sanitarie e socio-assistenziali; rilevare cluster o focolai in contesti specifici; prevenire la (re)introduzione nelle aree che hanno raggiunto un controllo sostenuto del virus.
In aggiunta alle proposte per la strategia d’uso dei test, il documento è integrato da una tabella sinottica sul tipo di test da utilizzare nei principali contesti, in base alla situazione epidemiologica e all’organizzazione sanitaria regionale.
