Roma, 26 aprile 2021 – L’Inail ha pubblicato il quindicesimo report nazionale contenente il quadro delle infezioni di origine professionale, aggiornato alla data del 31 marzo. Ne risulta che i contagi sul lavoro da Covid-19 denunciati all’Inail dall’inizio della pandemia alla data dello scorso 31 marzo sono 165.528, pari a circa un quarto del complesso delle denunce di infortunio sul lavoro pervenute dal gennaio 2020, e corrispondente al 4,6% del totale dei contagiati nazionali comunicati alla stessa data.
Rispetto alle 156.766 infezioni di origine professionale rilevate alla fine di febbraio, l’incremento è di 8.762 casi (+5,6%), di cui 3.522 riferiti a marzo, 1.605 a febbraio e 1.136 a gennaio di quest’anno, 1.089 a dicembre, 860 a novembre e 413 a ottobre 2020, e i restanti 137 agli altri mesi dell’anno scorso. Il consolidamento dei dati permette, infatti, di acquisire informazioni non disponibili nelle rilevazioni precedenti.
È opportuno evidenziare come la “seconda ondata” di contagi abbia avuto un impatto più intenso della prima anche in ambito lavorativo. Con 109.487 contagi denunciati infatti, il periodo ottobre 2020-marzo 2021 incide per il 66,1% sul totale delle denunce di infortunio da Covid-19, vale a dire più del doppio rispetto alle 50.699 del trimestre marzo-maggio 2020 (30,6%). Anche prendendo in considerazione solo i primi tre mesi della “seconda ondata”, quelli più critici di ottobre-dicembre 2020, la percentuale dei contagi (53,5%) è comunque superiore.
Quanto ai casi mortali da Covid-19 denunciati all’Istituto, alla data del 31 marzo sono 551, circa un terzo del totale dei decessi sul lavoro segnalati all’Istituto dal gennaio 2020. Rispetto ai 499 casi rilevati dal monitoraggio mensile precedente, i morti sono 52 in più, di cui 11 a marzo, sei a febbraio e 10 a gennaio 2021, cinque a dicembre e 12 a novembre dello scorso anno, mentre i restanti otto sono riconducibili ai mesi precedenti. A differenza del complesso dei contagi, per i decessi è la “prima ondata” della pandemia ad avere avuto un impatto ben più significativo rispetto alla seconda: il 62,8% dei casi mortali, infatti, è stato denunciato all’Inail nel trimestre marzo-maggio 2020 (il 34,7% nel solo mese di aprile) contro il 34,8% del semestre ottobre 2020-marzo 2021. L’82,8% dei morti sono uomini, ma la maggioranza dei contagi (69,3%) riguarda le donne. La quota delle lavoratrici supera quella dei lavoratori in tutte le regioni a eccezione della Sicilia e della Campania, con incidenze pari rispettivamente al 46,5% e al 45,0%, e della Calabria, dove si riscontra una parità tra i generi (50%). L’età media dei contagiati dall’inizio dell’epidemia è di 46 anni per entrambi i sessi e sale a 59 anni per i decessi (59 per gli uomini e 57 per le donne). Quasi i tre quarti dei casi mortali (72,0%) riguardano la classe 50-64 anni. Seguono le fasce over 64 anni (18,9%), 35-49 anni (8,2%) e under 35 anni (0,9%).
Con riferimento all’effetto ottenuto dalla vaccinazione, rispetto al trend osservato nella “seconda ondata” dei contagi, nei mesi di febbraio e marzo è emersa un’inversione di tendenza. Limitando l’analisi alle denunce presentate nell’ultimo bimestre, infatti, la sanità e assistenza sociale scende sotto la soglia del 50% dei casi codificati, riposizionandosi sugli stessi livelli del periodo estivo: ciò per merito delle vaccinazioni, che hanno coinvolto in via prioritaria proprio il personale sanitario.
Infine, a livello territoriale, con il 44,5% dei decessi denunciati, al Nord-Ovest spetta il primato negativo dei casi mortali (prima la Lombardia con il 31,8%). Seguono il Sud con il 23,2% (Campania 11,1%), il Centro con il 15,8% (Lazio 8,9%), il Nord-Est con il 12,0% (Emilia-Romagna 7,3%) e le Isole con il 4,5% (Sicilia 4,2%). Tra le province la più colpita è quella di Bergamo (8,7%), che precede Milano (8,3%), Napoli e Roma (7,1% per entrambe), Brescia (4,9%), Torino (3,8%), Cremona (3,4%), Genova e Parma (2,9% ciascuna).
