Roma, 8 febbraio 2020 – Sull’utilizzo dei monopattini mancano le minime norme di sicurezza. Dopo l’ennesimo incidente avvenuto oggi a Genova, dove una donna alla guida di un monopattino è stata travolta e uccisa da un Tir, a sottolineare la gravità della situazione è il Codacons. “Questo episodio – si legge in una nota – dimostra in tutta la sua drammaticità la pericolosità di tale mezzo di locomozione e l’assenza di regole a tutela della sicurezza degli utilizzatori e degli utenti delle strade”. “Le disposizioni normative vigenti relative ai monopattini non appaiono adatte a garantire la sicurezza stradale, e non a caso in Italia si registra un incidente grave ogni 3 giorni che vede coinvolto proprio tale mezzo di locomozione”, spiega il presidente Carlo Rienzi. Continua il presidente: “Le norme prevedono infatti una serie di limitazioni che è materialmente impossibile far rispettare, anche perché mancano i controlli, e non introducono obblighi a tutela della salute degli utilizzatori dei monopattini, come il caschetto protettivo per tutti, targatura e assicurazione. Un recente studio condotto negli Usa e pubblicato da Jama Surgery ha rivelato inoltre che i monopattini elettrici risultano più pericolosi delle biciclette e fanno aumentare il rischio di traumi e incidenti”.
